Eastern High Apartment, Newtown celebrates her 12th year of Durga Puja in 2022. Due to the prevailing pandemic situation, we have kept the arrangements just enough to maintain our traditions. The newly formed EHCSC (Eastern High Cultural Sub Committee) which was substituted by the 10-Member-Residents Team, remain overwhelmed by the inclusive participation in SHARADOTSAV 2022 from residents. The Durga Puja preparations brought every one of us in restricted celebration mode and seeking divine blessings together through physical distancing.
Few other highlights of this year’s Durga Puja 2022 arrangements are as below:
- Eastern High Durga Puja for Eastern High Residents Only – Due to continuing pandemic, we are prohibiting entry of flying visitors during Puja days inside our premises, unless individually approved by Residents through MyGate. EHAOA contracted construction workers will take Durga Puja break, thus further reducing presence of external work-force inside EH premises during the festive days.
- Spacious, simple Yet gracious open pandal with traditional Durga Pratima being arranged in our 12th year Durga Puja. The Idol is being made by the renouned Artisan, Sri Dulal Chandra Pal.
- The Ladies of EH, duly assisted by some of the Children, have creating a beautiful hand-painted Arch for the Pandal Entrance Facade - see Photo on the Left & more on the Team Page. Possibly for the first time, such an initiative has been taken by the Cultural committee - we are ever so grateful to the ladies of EH.
- EHCSC had procured full-set community cooking utensil Asset in 2020 for our community meal arrangements, as long-term ASSETs for Eastern high.

- Our EHCSC web portal enables all residents to observe decongested rituals & view Puja ritual/ pushpanjali guidelines, Durga Puja safety precautions and Food disbursement information through one page. Pushpanjali offering flowers to be arranged by individual Residents, except for Asthami, where EHCSC will have minimal offering flowers available
